Brent Serio

I started my career at the bottom of the stack. Windows Server administration, cabling, network design, VoIP deployments, wireless infrastructure. The kind of work where you understand exactly what breaks and why, because you built it yourself.

That background shaped everything about how I lead now. I spent years moving from hands-on infrastructure work into engineering leadership, from Director to CTO, and the thread running through all of it has been the same: get close to the problem, understand the people dealing with it, and build things that hold up under real-world pressure.

Today I serve as CTO at Blue Fox Group, a managed IT services company with over 30 years in the industry serving businesses across Arizona and beyond. Our work spans managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, CMMC compliance, and infrastructure. The standard I hold us to is the same one I have always held myself to: be someone your clients can call when things go wrong, and be the reason things go right more often than not.

I write about the things I actually think about: security, compliance, technical leadership, MSP operations, and the craft of building teams that ship reliable work. Not summaries of what others are saying. My own take, from the field.

Outside of work, I’m a husband and father. The job is meaningful, but it’s not everything.
